// Ready to take a trip through the ARTWORK for Avondkout and We Are Klank?

Visual identity for AVONDKOUT’s debut release, inspired by the expressive visual language and raw energy of 1970s comic book aesthetics. The project also includes posters
and stickers for select live performances, combining digital illustration, painting, and graphic composition using Procreate, Photoshop, and InDesign. For We Are Klank (WAK), Ben designed
the smiley logo as a playful nod to 1980s visual style. Additionally, he collaborated with Elijah Depuydt to create cartoon characters representing the alter egos of Mowgli, G1, and Ghost.

// So… WHO’s behind MOWGLI.creative studio?

MOWGLI.creative studio, founded in 2007 by Ben Depuydt (°1980, 0ostende, Belgium), is an Antwerp-based design studio specialising in interiors and bespoke furniture.

Evolving from the original MOWGLI.DESIGN practice, the studio has developed through years of creative exploration and an ongoing dialogue between architecture,
design, art and culture. Alongside his independent practice, Ben has collaborated with established architectural and design practices. From 2014 to 2017, Ben was
co-founder and owner of imore. From 2019 to 2025, he was co-founder and partner of B BRAND, where he further developed his practice and portfolio within the fields
of interior and design. Since 2026, he has continued his independent practice through MOWGLI.creative studio.

Today, the studio collaborates with private clients, businesses and creative partners on unique projects rooted in craftsmanship, character and enduring quality.
For Ben, design extends beyond interiors to encompass art, image and sound. This broader visual language takes shape in projects such as AVONDKOUT, his music project,
for which he developed the visual identity and graphic style, as well as the logo and cartoon characters for We Are Klank.

// Let me take you through the VISION and the story behind the name.

Design begins with curiosity: observing, understanding and connecting.
MOWGLI.creative studio approaches each project as an exploration, guided by curiosity, intuition and restraint. Rather than imposing a fixed aesthetic,
the aim is to discover what makes a place, an object or an idea distinctive, and translate that into a considered contemporary expression.

Architecture, history, materiality and traces of time become part of this process. New elements are introduced with sensitivity, creating a dialogue between heritage and the present.

The name MOWGLI reflects this philosophy. Created by Rudyard Kipling for his iconic character in The Jungle Book, Mowgli embodies curiosity, adaptability and the ability to move between
different worlds. Referred to as “Mowgli, the Frog”, the character also carries a more personal connection: “PUYT”, an old Flemish dialect word for frog, subtly echoes the name Depuydt.

Moving between worlds — heritage and contemporary, intuition and craftsmanship, architecture and object — is at the heart of the studio.

This portfolio brings together a selection of Ben Depuydt’s work spanning various periods (2006–2026).
During his time as co-founder and partner at B BRAND (2019–2025), he continued working with existing clients, while developing new projects and commissions, marked (BB) below.
